WEST Program
Program Overview
Odyssey International Exchange is an official J-1 Sponsor Organization for The Korea WEST (Work, English, Study, Travel) Exchange Program.
The Korea WEST Exchange Program provides South Korean university students and young professionals the opportunity to complete an intensive English study program, participate in a professional internship with an American company, and explore the life and culture of the United States through immersion and independent travel.
Formal English language instruction and cultural training (up to four months)
Career-focused internship with U.S. host company (between three to 12 months)
Independent travel (up to 30 days following successful internship)
The WEST Program is a joint initiative of the Republic of Korea and the U.S. Department of State. Since 2009, over 4,000 students and young professionals have participated in the program.
The program is open to Korean students who have completed their 4th semester (or 2nd semester for 2-year university programs). Recent graduates are also eligible to apply, within one year before the program start date.
